This was a charming addition to my family's instrument collection.  It's extremely easy to play, and sounds quite nice.  My son actually commented, "It's actually difficult to play anything that doesn't sound good on it."  A lot of that comes down to the available notes, of course.  Note that there are two identical notes on the Kalimba, so it actually only has eight unique tones.  I believe the duplicate note is for practical reasons, to make it easier to strike in various circumstances.
